You've probably heard the phrase "Content is King". It's a marketing term that describes the importance of having quality content online. Your content should be useful to your customers and provide them with something they can't find elsewhere. However, it's more than just having a bunch of content. There are many different types of content, and each one has a different purpose.

The content should be the type that is easy to consume and that people are willing to share, and they are more likely to share something that is entertaining or that provides insight. For example, a company that sells a product may want to create content that explains how to use a product or how to fix a problem.

In this blog post, we will look at the most commonly used types of content with some examples.

Blogs

Blogging is a great way to connect with customers, share information, and build trust. However, while many bloggers have a great amount of experience, others may not, and it can be difficult to find a balance between writing quality content and providing enough value to your readers.

Nowadays, many businesses try to leverage blogs as it is one of the best ways of driving organic traffic to your website.

The benefits of a blog are enormous, and you should have one. Here’s why:

  1. A blog is a way to show off your expertise.
  2. A blog is a way to network with other professionals and to provide value for your audience.
  3. A blog is an opportunity for you to establish your voice and brand.

To get your blogs discovered you need to optimize them with relevant keywords and write about topics your audience is interested in.

Over email, ebooks, and white papers, blog postings continue to be the most successful type of content.

SEO is a search engine optimization service that can be used to improve a blog's visibility in search engine results pages. With SEO, a blog can be optimized to rank higher.

When you search for a query, the most relevant and helpful blogs come to the top of the page. While trying to rank your blog on the first page of Google takes a lot of effort, over time it will be possible.

Some benefits of SEO include:

  • Increases the amount of organic traffic to your website and the quality of that traffic.
  • Improves Credibility & Trust
  • Reaches Your Entire Target Audience
  • Optimizes User Experience

User Generated Content

(UGC) is a form of content marketing that allows your customers to create and share their content on your website or social media platforms.

It is an excellent way to spread your message because it adds authenticity to your brand. Additionally, it’s cost-effective, and it allows you to engage with customers in a more personal way.

As you can imagine, social media is a big part of UGC, and the most popular platforms for creating and sharing content include Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.

The key to success with UGC is to make it easy for your customers to share their content.

For example, if your customer has a question about a product or service, they may create a short video of their experience. If their video is entertaining or informative, they’ll share it with their friends, which will increase your brand’s visibility and your customer’s satisfaction.

There are several types of UGC, including video, images, and text.

UGC has a strong influence on 79% of people's purchase decisions.

Example:

A customer shares their review on a product.

Case studies

A case study is a short story that helps the reader understand the complexities of the issue at hand. They are the most common form used in business and management today.

They're also the easiest to write. They're usually short and to the point. They often contain multiple examples.

It's a good way to get the reader to think about a particular issue. And their key advantage is that they tell a story.

Case studies are often the primary means by which a business communicates its strategy and vision to its customers and investors.

This is an important factor when it comes to making a decision as a customer.

Haven’t we all googled or researched about the past work/results of a product/company/service etc before engaging with them?

When considering a purchase, 92% of people check internet reviews, feedback, and case studies.

Example:

Our Case Studies showcase the work we have done and currently do for our clients.

Social Media Content

Social media content can be seen as a way to present text, images, video, audio, and other forms of media.

This is a great way to reach your target audience, with the right approach it can help you build your brand and increase your traffic. It helps you with your social media presence.

It’s also a way to communicate directly with the people who matter most to you. This type of content is designed to share an idea, an event, or a thought with your audience. It is the content that is published to a social media account.

One of the most commonly used types of content are images which are used in a variety of ways, including:

  • Logos
  • Graphics
  • Illustrations
  • Photos
  • Screenshots
  • Icons

They are used to make things look more appealing. To convey and pass on information to the audience, to make a point or make a point clearer, to tell a story, or to depict a concept.

Having images between long texts makes it easier for readers to grab the idea while also not making it boring.

It's better to use original photos or ones that you've taken yourself since this adds a personal touch to it.

Visual marketing is considered very important by 49% of marketers.

I would recommend using images as a content form for a company that sells products related to its business. This is because many people who are looking for products in this category will search for images to find the products they are looking for.

A lot can be conveyed through an image using texts, colors, symbols, shapes, and designs. All of this combined can be used to attract users.

Example:

One way of capturing the viewer's attention and keeping them engaged is by sharing professionally taken photos or designing them.

Video Content

Video content is becoming more and more popular. It's the next frontier in content marketing. Among the sea of different types of content, it will help your content marketing stand out.

Tik-Tok for example is a video-sharing app that has soared in popularity. Especially during the lockdown periods of the pandemic.

It allows you to tell your story in a more emotional and relatable way. The goal of video content marketing is to encourage your audience to share the content you produce.

There are many other reasons to use video content marketing. To name a few: If you want to create more engagement, video is a great way to capture attention. In addition to engaging more people, video is a great way to increase website traffic.

According to Hubspot, 87% of brands that use video say they’ve had a positive ROI on their efforts.

Example:

Sometimes just a simple and creative video like this is all it takes for it to go viral.

Infographics

Why are they so popular? The answer is simple: They are easy to create and use. They simplify even the most complex information, making it easy to digest.

They’re easy to share on social media, increasing the chance of going viral. And they’re visually appealing, giving your audience a break from traditional walls of text.

Infographics are graphic representations of information, statistics, ideas, or data – usually in the form of a diagram or a chart.

It can be in the form of an image, a short text description, a series of drawings graphically illustrating facts or concepts, a picture with text, or a slide show – as in a presentation.

The most important thing is that they bring information to life, making it more intuitive and memorable.

49% of content creators say that visual content is highly important to their content marketing strategies.

Example:

Include a good combination of texts, colors, and shapes.

Many more different types of content will always be coming out as the competition to stay relevant and to be on top will only keep growing. Therefore, you need to be even more creative and consistent in your content.
